"My 'Applique' clay line is a result of translating my sewing experience from high school into clay and a consequence of ceaseless glazing tests in the studio.  Each dot is meticulously poked by hand in order to create an abstract or figurative design, which is comprised solely of tiny dots and has the effect of looking like stitching on clothing.  I hand poke hundreds and sometimes  thousands of dots on each piece.  It’s very tedious and time consuming, but I love the effect and it’s rewarding to me that each is an intricate, one-of-a-kind piece."
